Add the public key gitlab.pub to gitlab:
- cat ~/.ssh/gitlab.pub
- (copy the text of the public key into your clipboard)
- login to gitlab
- click "Profile settings" (icon of a person, upper right corner)
- click "SSH Keys" (left side nav bar)
- click green "Add SSH Key" button (upper right)
- enter a name for the key, this is human readable, not a file name
- paste the key into the "key" text box
- click "Add key"
You can test the function of the new SSH key:
